Irjen Karyoto, the Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, inspected a security checkpoint (pospam) at Kilometer 25B of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road (Japek) in Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency. He monitored the preparations at the checkpoint to ensure a smooth flow of the 2025 Eid al-Fitr return traffic to Jakarta and its surrounding areas.

Karyoto personally assessed the readiness of personnel and facilities at Pospam Kilometer 25B and monitored the traffic conditions on the toll road for the return flow. While there was an observed increase in return traffic, the situation remained under control.

Traffic Engineering Measures:

• Traffic management adjustments were made to ease congestion, particularly prioritizing vehicles coming from the Cikampek direction towards Jakarta. This decision was made considering the long journey these drivers had undertaken.

• CCTV surveillance at strategic points identified congestion from Semarang (Km 73) to Km 60, as well as at the exits towards Jakarta.

Alternate Routes:

• Vehicles from the Jagorawi direction were redirected to Tanjung Priok. Drivers could still reach their destinations, although the travel time might be longer.

• Conditional traffic diversions to Ring Road Tanjung Priok would be implemented if the traffic remained heavy on the Jagorawi route.

Full Alert:

• Traffic officers were on high alert to anticipate a surge in vehicles.

• All traffic police, including those participating in Operation Ketupat Jaya 2025, were instructed to closely monitor all toll exits to prevent congestion.

• Priority was given to the safety and comfort of the public. Karyoto emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the community for a trouble-free return traffic flow, ensuring a secure and pleasant journey for holidaymakers.

• The public was urged to stay orderly, follow instructions from officers, and prioritize reaching their destinations safely.

• The inspection was conducted in the presence of various high-ranking police officials, including the Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, the Metro Bekasi Police Chief, and key directors overseeing traffic, intelligence, security maintenance, and community guidance.

• Commuters were reminded by Metro Jakarta Police spokesperson, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, to maintain their vehicles properly and stay alert during the journey, including regular rest breaks at designated areas.
